Synopsis:

Can the editor show the time offset ?

ex:

instead of
"Line 278 - [Google Translate]"

show something like
"Line 278 - 00:01:32,450 - [Google Translate]"

Hi Yocto, I actually disabled the time to simplify the public editor. But, now that I think about it, having it allows users to check the time of the movie to assist in the translation. So I enabled it back.

Here is an example:

Line 509 - 00:54:12,710 --> 00:54:14,250
是几点的航班
Is several spot flights

Babel fish gave me this translation: "Some of the flights is"

But when I went to the 00:54:12 time offset...
The actor was actually speaking in english!

Hi Lawliet, sure no problem. It is just an idea that I have. Trying to see how to get an english sub out as soon as possible.

One translator can only do so much at a time. But if several Fans translating together, just 10 fans who can help translate 10 line each, means in 100 lines will be done. So you can imagine how powerful that can be.

So I using these projects to try out this concept. see how else I can improve it:)

Not really sure what you mean by that. But I have improved the download link. Instead of two separate links. There is one line, and it will show you whether the link has been edited and how much has been edited. So users will know how much of the subtitle has been edited etc.

I've been trying to work on the subs. Is is possible to sort of have it like Viki's format where you see all the linese at once? Or that you can scroll through all the lines?
I sometimes refresh for a particular line so that I can change it. Some lines are easy to change. I know some Chinese but I've watched enough Korean dramas to know how a particular phrase is translated.


Also, I'm currently using some subs but as I edit it, the same line in the editor's subs is in broken language. Is the editor updated consistantly?

It would be good to save see previous translations of the line in case someone makes a mistake.

Yes, but at the moment, that is main full sub editing only supports one main editor only. The reason why I made it 4 lines etc, is so that it is easier to control multiple user editing the sub at the same time. And, to prevent conflict it also randomly pick the lines for different users to work on.

I have not added like ajax style real-time updating for the full editor, so only one main editor can be assigned to that a time, to prevent conflicting of data. Later on, when I get a multi-user full editor working, it will definitely be available. Still trying to improve the system as it is all newly created. This is all a new idea and concept, so I really do not know how users will take to this concept. But it appears users actually enjoy the idea. So I am still working ways to make the editing a little more flexible while supporting the multiple users etc. Still have lots more to work on for sure.

It is possible to do the full editing in as a main translator, but for this public edited, I did not yet integrate the main editor's work be automatically compiled to the public release. But, if you are interested to do the full editing, let me know.
