This site is different from any other sub-teams, because of our unique CTS Editor system of creating subtitles.
CTS Editor - Uniqueness allows for:-
- Many translators and editors to simultaneously work on a subtitle episode at the same time.
The more translators and editors working on the same project subtitles, it is possible to have a fully translated and QC edited in less than 1-3 days. Less people working on it may take longer 4-7 or for even less popular titles may even be a few weeks.
- Many titles and episodes to be released at the same time.
This means unlike other sub teams which can only work on one or two titles, we can add many and chances are there will be fans interested in working on those title. Hence, many drama can be worked on at the same time.
- Initial Software Translation with DSS Translator (for Quick and Fast understanding of subs).
This means for those super long drama where very few people are interested in working on it. You can at least get a rough idea of the episode (even though it is not perfectly translated).
In either case, if you compare to any normal sub team. Our releases are generally released faster, which otherwise may take weeks to releases. So stop asking us to work faster!
There is a certain amount of time needed to properly translate, edit and QC the subs to get a properly edited releases. In most cases, in a normal subbing this can take 1 to 8 weeks. Depending on how dedicated the subber is. Obviously, popular titles will be faster because people tend to want to work on it quicker to enjoy it.

Hence, I am setting up new rules and regulations based on my overall experience on the subtitle releases and completion guidelines.
A. Rules on Subtitle Releases
1) No one should pester the admin / prep team on when subtitles will be released or when it will be added.
Community Translated Subtitle (CTS) Releases will depend on availability of chinese soft-subs.
- Popular titles changes are it be available 1-2 days after the broadcast.
- Less popular ones may take 3-14 days.
- Those super long drama usually is queued to be worked on at one go.
2) When will releases be added?
Once it is prepared and added to the CTS Project. At the moment, I am the only person working on it.
- If I am free, I will add it as I see the releases.
- If I am not free, I will queue them to releases them all in one go later in the evening (8pm-12am +0800 GMT).
Later once we have prep team, there will be more people adding it. This will also allow for more releases.
3) What will be released?
At the moment, I am focusing on all major Korean Drama and some selected Japanese Drama. Korean Variety will be halted, as I simply do not have time to work on it. In most cases, all major and popular drama will be worked on. Especially, if the soft-sub is available. If not, they will have to be ripped and that will be decided by whether it is worth doing it or not.
4) Why work on some drama when other sub teams may do it?
In most cases, some dramas that are subbed some teams, may have content restrictions or only released privately. So not everyone can access it. If you can get the subs, you are free to use it and enjoy it. Whereas subs released here are open to all members, so everyone can access it.
Plus in most cases, we still releases the initial software translation before anyone has even released the subs. So for fans who cannot wait, even this fast sub will help. This also gives fans a changes to have a wide selection of subs to work on all in one place. Hence, we still released them.
But, if everyone uses our system it is likely the subs will still be released faster because nothing beats fans eager to watch the drama to want to help work on it.
Hence, we try to add all drama that is available, but let fans decide which they want to work on. In most cases, popular subtitles should be always completely worked on, less popular ones will depend on how many people help out. As the site grows, I am sure there will be different groups of users interested to work on them.
So eventually users can have a wide access to all drama and subs.
B. Rules on Subtitle Completion
1) Do not pester the CTS Team to work on the subs faster
To translate, edit & QC edit. Often it will take time.
Some dramas have terms that needs to be researched like saguek so those will take longer time to translate. So completion time can vary. Also, number of translators and editors working on it will also have great impact. So do not rush the CTS Team. CTS Team is made up of entirely of fans who like to work on those drama.
- Popular titles it maybe done in 1-3 days.
- Less popular titles maybe done in 3-14 days.
- Super long drama depends on whether anyone will work on it.
2) Quality of Releases?
- Inital Software Translation (not yet 100% Fans Translated)
The sub quality is not likely to be great. Although, I have significantly improved the DSS Translator, there are still lots of terms that still need to be added to refine the translation. But, you should be able to understand most (except for complex description or name terms).
- 100% Fans Translated but unedited
This means translators who generally know chinese have gone through to make the translations more accurate to the original sentence meaning. But it many not be perfectly edited or QC to match what is spoken. But definitely better than the initial software translation.
- 100% Fans Translated and QC Edited
Generally, the subs should be pretty good by this stage. When it is just 100% translated, it may still take another 1-2 days for further QC to be done to perfect it. This means time for people to watch against the video and spot errors or improve upon any not yet perfected translations.
- 100% Elite Edited (Optional)
If a sub has additional Elite Team editing, the chances are the final sub should be near perfected. If not, the higher the Elite percentage, the more perfect the subs will be.
3) Want the subtitles to be completed faster?
Rather than complain about it. Help out in the translation and editing. This will likely help make the sub translated faster.
In most cases, most subs are slower because it lacks translators (chinese translators) who can read and translate the line for editors to work on. There are lots of Editors and QC Editors who can clean up the translations. But they often cannot read the original source. So helping to translate the initial lines, makes it possible for them to edit the subs.
--
So far in the past 8 months, I have observed that in most cases our subs are still out faster than most sub-team. Of course, on a few drama which is less popular or we do not have as dedicated a subber working on it. It may be a bit slower (but it is rare).
Either way, the goal of this site was to have a way to produce subs quickly, and to be able to enjoy as many drama as possible.
Everyone who works on this site is a fan who volunteer their time and effort to helping out. So do not pester or rush them to complete faster. If you think a drama title is worked on slowly, then help out if you can. That's the best way to help speed up the releases.
Do not force me to have to implement banning. I generally would like to avoid it. But, if that's the only way to prevent people from pestering the team. I may resort to doing so. But, I would like to believe our users will be understanding of the time and effort to that goes to bring you the subtitles to enjoy. So you will respect the rules I have listed out. - Thank you in advance for complying with our rules.
Hope that everyone will follow this updated rules and get to understand the releases and completion time-frame.
