Hi Waggy, happy to see the extended k-drama exemption list. :) Thanks for your hard work. :panda_celebrate:

One suggestion: Shouldn't we add daebak on the exemption list?

    Thanks but what exactly is
    "EXEMPTION LIST "

    and what is it for?

When you're translating/editing subtitles for a certain drama, instead of translating it to English or other language, we still use the Korean term.

    For example:

    Correct

Character 1: I want more Soju.

    Wrong

Character 1: I want more alcohol.

    Get it? :)

    Korean Dramas I've watched:

    Big

    Boys Over Flowers

    City Hunter

    Dream High

    Dream High 2

    God of Study

    Goong

    My Girl

    My Girlfriend is a Gumiho

    My Princess

    Personal Preference

    Queen In Hyun's Man

    Rooftop Prince

    Secret Garden

    Shining Inheritance

    The King 2 Hearts

The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince

    Thanks. I understand.
However, my humble opinion would be to minimize this list, not extend it indefinitely.
I understand that Koreans have strong national emotions and therefore strong feelings towards
the items that represent their national identity, but English subs are for people who are not Koreans
and more often than not have very restricted knowledge about foreign cultures.
The goal is to make these programs watchable for as many people as possible.
Words like Sieomeon, Chukka, Bulgogi etc...
shouldn't be on that list, especially since they are just Korean terms for
things that are not used in Korea exclusively (marinated spicy beef or wedding
songs exist in many other places under different name).
    My humble opinion.
    Oh yes,
    Viva Dark Smurf - ole!

Sometimes it's just really hard to get the english equivalent of anything... and most of the words in the exemption list are commonly used words that most fans of korean drama/variety/culture would understand... moreover, most fans of korean culture would love to understand more of some commonly used words... just my opinion...
