2NE1 is a four-member South Korean hip-hop/pop girl group formed by YG Entertainment in 2009. The name 2NE1 combines the phrases "21st century" and "new evolution" .And is pronounced "twenty-one" or "to anyone".

They first appeared in "Lollipop", a commercial campaign with Big Bang for LG Electronics, and their debut single "Fire" was released on May 6, 2009. Since then, the group has released two extended plays 2NE1 2nd Mini Album, and one studio album, To Anyone. 2NE1 spawned the number-one single "I Don't Care", which won them the "Song of the Year" award from the Mnet Asian Music Awards. Their follow-up singles, such as "Go Away", "Lonely" and "I Am The Best" were similarly successful, with "I Am The Best" winning 2NE1 their second "Song of the Year" award.

Finally! 2NE1 thread! They're my YG bias group, though I'm also a fan of BIGBANG and other YG artists. In short, I am a YG stan. =) And 2NE1 became my favorite not only because of Dara who was a former artist here in the Philippines (as well as my bias 2NE1 member), but their songs made me quit my hiatus on K-Pop, thus, me being a K-Pop addict now. =))

I'm a fan of Sandara Park when she was an actress here in the Philippines. When she went back to Korea and became successful there, i like it that she still didn't forget how to speak Filipino and would still visit my country from time to time. So Up to now,, I'm still a fan of her and this extended to their group 2NE1.

Complex Examines 2NE1’s Fashion Style and Future Plans

Complex, a US-based magazine, had the opportunity to talk to the 2NE1 members back in August, where the girls shared their thoughts on fashion, solo careers, and music.

The interview with 2NE1 was released on January 29, including photos from Complex’s exclusive fashion shoot with the quartet, showing off some Jeremy Scott, Givenchy, and Balmain.

During the interview, the girls shared what they thought about the US market and the group’s potential to succeed.

CL replied, “Instead of approaching it different, we just like to enjoy doing our music. I just think we want other people to enjoy it with us. We’re not trying to use a specific plan.”

The girls also explained that 2NE1’s style fit each member personally. Sandara Park added, “Initially, I was very quiet and reserved… After I became a member of 2NE1, many sides of me that I haven’t noticed started to unveil itself. So I’m having fun in that sense.”

On what Park Bom and Sandara Park planned on doing in five years, both girls were unsure whether they would still be in 2NE1, although they want to still be doing something related to music.

Park Bom said, "Let me add just one more thing. I might still be active as 2NE1."

Transforming from a girl to a woman, 2NE1’s Sandara Park revealed her more mature and feminine side through makeup brand, Clio.

Sandara Park was appointed as a new model for the makeup brand.

According to Clio on February 4, Sandara Park was chosen after being deemed that she fit the brand’s needs of wanting an image that will appeal in Korea as well as oversea. As a 2NE1 member, Sandara Park fit all the requirements, while also providing the trendy image of beauty.

“Sandara Park’s eligibility as a model showed through her execution of various colors while being able to express her own unique charms and charisma. With Sandara Park, we will attempt to lead the trendy makeup industry.”

Sandara Park has already shot the Spring/Summer collection for 2013. The advertisements will be released in March.

2NE1 and Gummy to Perform in Charity Concert for Taean Teenagers

2NE1 and Gummy will be performing for teenagers in Taean.

The two teams will perform in the Companion concert to be held on February 23. Companion is a charity concert that has been held by Silkroad C&T since 2008. In 2012, 2NE1 performed in a concert of the same title in Vietnam.

The Companion concert this year plans to donate all profits to a school fund for teenagers in Taean, an area which suffered from a great oil leak in 2007.

A rep from YG Entertainment stated, "Though 2NE1 and Gummy are busy with album preparations and individual activities, they decided to participate in the concert after agreeing with its aims."

2NE1 and Gummy have also previously embarked on many good deeds with the YG campaign ′WITH′.

Fans can participate through an event to be held in G Market from February 15. G Market will host an event in which participants will search ′Companion Concert′ and be given the chance to apply for an invitation to the concert. A total of 500 participants will be invited.

2NE1 Members to Appear in Four Different Fashion Magazines at the Same Time

Each member of 2NE1 will be showcasing her unique charms in four separate fashion magazines for the month of March.

On February 16, YG Entertainment revealed a special pictorial with Sandara Park in Elle, Park Bom in Allure, CL in Harper’s Bazaar, and Minzy in Marie Claire.

The members have all had their solo cuts in the same magazines, but this will be the first time ever for a girl group with each member individually participating in a different magazine’s photoshoot. This is a project that is possible for 2NE1 as the group received must love for the members’ individual styles and unique charms.

Especially with the March issue, a new campaign will be introduced by fashion and beauty brands, making it that much more necessary to pay attention.

In Elle, Sandara Park appeared innocent and feminine, stirring the hearts of men. As she’s been showing off quite unique hairstyles as a 2NE1 member, this new transformation has been catching attention.

Park Bom followed the ‘bom’ (spring) concept in Allure, using bright colors and flowers to fault off her beauty while bringing spring into the picture.

Charismatic CL made her eyes pop with even fiercer makeup than she wears normally in 2NE1. From street style to high end fashion, CL was able to pull off each style she encountered in the shoot.

Finally legal of age, Minzy’s Marie Claire pictorial showed that she was no longer a baby, but a sophisticated young woman. Her own style of fashion and glamorous body will be shown through the spread.

The pictorials that have surprised even 2NE1’s personal stylists will be revealed on February 20 in online and offline markets.

Meanwhile, 2NE1 is currently preparing for a new album comeback.
