A Gentleman's Dignity Episode 5 Recaps

INTRO
A cup of coffee often stirs up striking conversation—four men gathered in deep discussion between consumer behavior and girl groups. Tae San deduce that the economy can be treated same as Korean popular culture. A heated exchanged between Tae San, Jeong Rok and Do Jin as to who is the best member among Girl Generation. At the door they noticed Soo Young of Girl Generation. The men wanted to get an autograph and photo. They ask Yun for an opinion and found him amiss. Yun is already chatting with Soo Young. He asked for her autograph and also took a photo with her. The rest of the group was utterly embarrassed. But Yun discarded them; he even danced and sang tunes from a few Girl Generation hits. Sometimes a beverage can give you a boost of energy/youthfulness—coffee does have a tendency to do that at times.

Se Ra spilled I Su’s stuff; Do Jin sees her predicament helps out by gathering the items on the ground. Do Jin noticed Se Ra tucking in Tae San’s photo into her notebook. Both then went to the stands to watch the game. Tae San waves at Se Ra and she sees the number on his uniform. It’s the same number embossed on the gloves hidden underneath I Su’s bed. Do Jin found Se Ra in deep thought asks her if she uncomfortable.
Se Ra: I didn’t notice before. But those two are well-matched. Maybe we should go for lunch together, me, Tae San, you and I Su.
The pairs then go for lunch. Do Jin and Tae San arrive together and so do Se Ra and I Su. Tae San and Se Ra went inside as soon as they arrived and I Su followed. Do Jin who is behind I Su took notice of her purse. The purse Se Ra was holding earlier was actually I Su’s—meaning that Tae-San’s photo was I Su’s as well. It can’t be that Se Ra found out her secret crush. Inside the restaurant, Se Ra asks I Su to sit beside Tae San. Se Ra is trying to making I Su reveal her secret crush by asking questions about her 20 seconds mystery guy. Tae San then reached over and brushed over I Su’s shoulders. I Su froze at the encounter. Do Jin knows better that Se Ra is up to no good saves I Su. Do Jin offers Se Ra a response that the mysterious guy is a friend who once came over their place at the time Do Jin measured their kitchen. Se Ra realizes that if she tries to pry the truth so more Do Jin will reveal that she went out with someone other than Tae San. As soon as Se Ra quiets down Do Jin and Se Ra leaves. Outside the restaurant, Do Jin warns I Su not to get caught with her secret crush affairs. But it seems that I Su has been caught.
Do Jin: Looks like you had chances to confess but you didn’t. Is it because you are afraid of hurting your good friend Se Ra or yourself
Se Ra arrives home and found I Su watching TV. She inquired that I Su just received a one-of-a-kind confession from Do Jin but why she did not accept it. I Su responded that she does not deserve Do Jin and that Do Jin is not enough—is not the one. Se Ra then tells I Su that she’s wondering who “the one” is.
Do Jin now also at home recalls the event that let to Se Ra finding out I Su’s crush on Tae San. He then grabs the card from the chocolate bouquet. He makes a comparison with the penmanship on the sticky notes I Su made and the writing on the card takes a magnifying glass and found that they are not the same. Do Jin then goes to Tae San’s place. He is met by Yun and asked for Meari. Yun then became protective and inquired what exactly Do Jin need from Meari. Meari arrive to find Do Jin and Yun in the living room. Do Jin tells Meari that they need to talk and they go to Meari’s room. Do Jin ask Meari to write real and dazzling on a notepad and it confirmed his hunch that Meari wrote the stuff on the card. It made him really happy. Do Jin then inquires if I Su and her ever talk about him. Meari responded sometimes and then cuts Do Jin off saying that her missed opportunity is in the living room referring to Yun. Do Jin then asks Meari for her high school year book in exchange for the security code of their apartment; Yun and Do Jin are housemates. Do Jin and Yun left Tae-San’s house together. Yun just came to rearrange the furniture in the kitchen so that Meari can reach and find them with ease.
Next Morning
Se Ra goes to practice and remembers find out I Su’s secret crush on Tae San. Se Ra wants to forget but cannot deny the fact that even though she is Tae San’s girlfriend she knows very little of him. Se Ra then practices her swing like crazy and got tired. She decides to take a break.
At the office, Do Jin is told that he has a guest—Se Ra comes in and bluntly tells Do Jin that she’s going to get to the point directly; is Tae San the guy I Su likes, she ask him. Do Jin respond to Se Ra that instead of bothering with I Su’s affairs Se Ra should love Tae San more and reminds Se Ra of the male friend incident at their place. Se Ra then leaves asking Do Jin that Tae San must not know she been to their office and what they talked about. Do Jin bids Se Ra good bye by saying that if I Su wanted to interfere it would have been very uncomfortable for her.
I Su is on break when a co-teacher joins and invites her to a hiking trip and before I Su can say no her co-teacher already made definite plans dragging her into it. So there goes I Su’s Foundation Day holiday. I Su heads back to class and receives a text message from Meari with a picture of a gorgeous red dress. Meari who is browsing around a shop is greeted by a voice—it’s Min Suk. Min Suk buys Meari a dress as a homecoming present. Meari tells Min Suk that she’s looking for a part time job. Meari then finds out that Min Suk owns an array of buildings including a café to which Meari is given a part time position.
Do Jin meets with his staff over lunch and found that Team Leader Choi is missing. He inquires where Team Leader Choi is and found that Team Leader Choi is on leave as he got injured by a client who threw a glass at him. Do Jin then goes to meet with the client and throws a glass at him and ripped the contract at the same time too. He is met by Team Leader Choi together with two more team members back at the office—who profusely apologized to him. Do Jin reminds the boys why his salary is higher that theirs; the reason is so they can hide behind him when such things happen. The boys reminded Do Jin that the contract ius worth $200,000. Do Jin tells them that they are worth 50 cents more than the contract.
The day has ended and Tae San is stressed about another project. He also needs to go to Se Ra’s house to finish the measurements Do Jin made. Do Jin volunteers to go to Se Ra’s place and he was all smiles along the way. He knows that I Su is home alone. I Su opens the door right after Do Jin rang the bell. Do Jin accuses I Su of being careless, I Su tells him that Tae San phoned in advance letting her know that his (Do Jin) on the way. As Do Jin work at the kitchen he hears I Su exasperated complain from her room—I Su’s computer froze on her. Do Jin calls I Su to help him with the measurements by holding the other end of the measuring tape. He then offers I Su to fix her computer. I Su prepares a cold beverage leaving Do Jin alone in her room to take a look at her computer. Do Jin fixes I Su’s computer and recalls the last application/program I Su used—Do Jin was taken to I Su’s cyworld. He scrolls down the profile page and sees a picture of I Su wearing a bikini. I Su comes in just as Do Jin tries to take a closer look at her photo. Embarrassed by getting caught Do Jin throws a drink at the screen hoping it will black out but didn’t. I Su asked what he is doing. Do Jin can’t bring himself to answer as he is caught red handed.
I Su: ah, a bikini. What’s wrong with wearing a bikini? I posted it there so people would see...

Do Jin finally gaining back composure compliments I Su for having a nice collarbone. He then leaves the room reminding I Su to wait for his call and answer her call. Happy with the compliment from Do Jin, I Su tries to show off her collarbone by doing some poses, looking at the mirror and blushing. Then Do Jin comes back in to say goodbye and caught I Su off guard who is trying to cover her red face with her shirt, showing her toned abs to Do Jin instead.
Do-Jin: I have to force myself to go or else I will do something bad.
Next Day
Meari goes to Yun’s office very early. Meari asks Yun to close his eyes for five seconds as she tries to match the best color/pattern for his skin. Meari is planning to make something for Yun as a birthday present. When Meari was done she informs Yun that she’s going to start working part time at Jeong Rok’s café.
At lunch all Do Jin and Yun can hear about is Jeong Rok’s complain that Meari was hired by Min Suk to act as a spy. Tae San who usually joins them for lunch went for a walk with Se Ra. Se Ra asked Tae San if he ever thought of breaking up with her. Tae San truthfully answered her that he stopped counting at 44. He then throws back a question to Se Ra of not knowing him that well. Se Ra then tells him that she needs some down time to prepare for the upcoming golf tournament. They both decide to hang out at Se Ra’s place since I Su is going away for the Foundation Day on a hiking trip.

I Su who was suppose to go hiking is now stuck at home, thanks to her co-teacher’s sudden change of plan. I Su then receives a package from Meari, inside the box is the gorgeous red dress from Meari’s message earlier together with a matching hand bag. I Su tries the dress on when Tae San lets himself in. Caught in an awkward situation excuses herself that she’s on her way out to a party. Se Ra then arrive just missing I Su.
Colin is having a busy day looking for a pair of shoes. He goes into a shop looking for a style that says back to basic. Colin is told by the sales lady about the membership program, he agrees to sign up as he will be staying in Korea for awhile. After making his purchase, Colin asks where the most popular club in Kangnam is.
Se Ra and Tae San are hanging out together at home when Tae San suddenly opens up eating out. Se Ra asked why. Tae San tells Se Ra that he feels bad making I Su stay out for their sake. Se Ra then throws a temper upon learning that Tae San is being considerate of I Su. She threatens Tae San that if he leaves now they’re over. It did not stop Tae San he leaves telling Se Ra that she should rest instead.
I Su finds herself in a red dress, with a phone running on low battery and no money—calls Meari. She asked Meari to bring her $30 so she can have fare money. Meari then tells her to go her place instead. Arriving at Meari’s place I Su realizes for the first time that Meari is not just a daughter of a small business owner but a daughter of a rich family. Tae San arrives home finding Meari and I Su at the front gate. I Su then tells Tae San that she and Meari are going to a party together. Meari changes to a party dress and gets to decide where they should go. Meari decides that they should go to a popular club Kangnam.
I Su is left alone as Meari and her friends take over the dance floor. After sometime I Su looks around for Meari to ask her for the cab money so she could leave. I Su cannot find Meari decides to text message her instead. She receives no response from Meari which is unsual. Colin sees I Su and tries greeting her. I Su brushed off Colin and goes outside.
The reason why Meari cannot be found and is not responding to any message or call is that she is stuck in the lady’s room—after calling out for several times, Colin passes by and over hears Meari. He then opens the door for her. Meari then remembers Colin as the earphone guy from the plane who she shared watching Secret Garden with, on her way back to Korea.
I Su is trying in vain to get a hold of Meari had a moment and recalls Colin. It was perfect timing as Colin is on his way out of the bar.
I Su: That punk…
Colin: Let’s end our relationship. If we will meet again it’s fate.
I Su averts her attention from Colin to her dying phone. She needs to find a way to get home quick and left with no other choice she phones Do Jin.
Do Jin while on the road takes I Su’s call—I Su asks Do Jin where he is and if there’s any chance he’s near a certain intersection. Do Jin responded her. I Su then lets out her predicament and offers a suggestion to Do Jin that in exchange of her broken laptop he can come and pick her up instead. Do Jin then hangs up the phone while making a u-turn to drive the other direction. I Su is then left with no response whether or not Do Jin is coming to pick her up and her phone dies on top of that.
Yun, Attorney Kang and Jeong Rok had a dinner meeting and to ensure that Attorney Kang is brought home safely Yun rides along with her as they are being driven by a designated driver.
Do Jin arrives at the intersection that I Su mentioned, he then sees I Su happily talking to the passenger of the parked car. I Su’s beautiful smile is enough to drive Do Jin crazy much more taking into account the red dress she’s wearing. Do Jin simply irritated decides to rear end the car in front. A smirking Do Jin is then greeted by a startled I Su.
