A Gentleman's Dignity Episode 6 Recaps

INTRO
It was once said that it is impossible to imagine Goethe or Beethoven being good at billiards or golf.
Inside a billiard hall four men, grouped by pair are fighting over the title for Grand (Flounder) Sashimi Championship. It was a serious, intense and nerve wrecking match. But in the end team Do Jin and Jeong Rok concedes defeat by team Tae San Yun. Do Jin noted that after all these years they’re not playing better, it’s just that they’ve gotten older. The proof of that is Do Jin forgetting to put on his shoes before leaving the hall.

After a dinner meeting Yun rides back with Attorney Kang. While in the middle of the road he took notice of someone familiar, it’s I Su. Yun asks the designated driver to pull over the curb. I Su seeing Yun is very grateful and she felt that Yun was her knight in shining armor. Suddenly, the car was rear ended. Yun and Do Jin both got out of the car and were very surprised to see each other. Yun tells Do Jin that what he just did was embarrassing. Do Jin responded that I Su was acting as if she wants to get in the car and unable to hit I Su to stop her—he hits the car instead. Attorney Kang then joins the conversation as Yun and Do Jin brief each other about insurance and repairs. Do Jin drives off with I Su who keeps on asking him for $30. He then tells her that he’s taking her to their firm’s hotel room to rest. After parking the car, I Su asks Do Jin if he is not going to look at his car even once. Do Jin mustered all his courage to look.
Do Jin: Betty!
I Su: So her name is Betty.
Do Jin: You should greet her formally. Betty is hurt but isn’t she brave.
When they got inside Do Jin tells I Su that his going to work on the other room so I Su can make herself comfortable. Suddenly someone opens the door—it’s Tae San. Do Jin tells I Su to hide in the other room. Tae San however intends on staying longer than welcome. I Su asks Do Jin to make Tae San go. Do Jin smugly tells her that she can go home but first she must say goodbye to Tae San and apologize for hiding. Tae San then tells Do Jin that he is coming inside his room—I Su rushed to the washroom. She and Do Jin are then left in a close, tight and awkward position with her back against the door and Do Jin’s chest right at her face. Do Jin seeing I Su’s discomfiture teases her some more by pushing himself against the door. As soon as Tae San leaves the room she pushes Do Jin away and went out of the room fanning herself from profusely blushing. When Do Jin reenters the room I Su asks for $30 again and Do Jin finally giving in takes his wallet out. I Su sees her picture in Do Jin’s wallet and inquire where on earth he got the photo. Do Jin tells her he took it from Meari’s high school year book.
After calling I Su a cab and seeing her off, Do Jin joins Jeong Rok and Tae San for drinks. Yun arrives shortly after Do Jin and tries to get more and clear details from Do Jin about the accident. But he was quickly shush by Do Jin telling him it’s a secret. The men then discussed about celebrating Do Jin and Yun’s birthday together.
Tae San goes home to find Meari sprawled on the floor. He panics only discover that Meari is drunk to the core.
I Su arrives home just as Se Ra is going for practice—Se Ra greets I Su and tells her that she’s wearing her shoes. At the club, Se Ra checks her phone and there was no message from Tae San. It annoyed her and a report then approached her asking about her current standing and poor performance. Se Ra lashed at him by telling her that even though she has no skill results her beauty is what keeps her sponsors.
Do Jin and Tae San attends a team meeting for a new project when a secretary interrupts announcing that Do Jin has a guest. Eun Jae drops by to give Do Jin back the shoes he intentionally bought for I Su (that I Su returned).
Eun Jae: You know a man without a heart is like a man with no manners. That unrequited love of yours, let her know I’m cheering for her. I hope that she will hurt you until the very end.
Do Jin was not eating at lunch that Yun begin to take concern. Tae San then burst through the room accusing Do Jin of losing a $200,000 contract. Do Jin tells Tae San that it was for Team Leader Choi. Yun then tells them that they might not be at a total loss since Tae San might be able to contest a claim.
Jeong Rok at home finds Min Suk in living room—lost in thoughts. Min Suk as soon as she noticed Jeong Rok accuses him of buying off water purifiers for Jae Soo. Jeong Rok reasons out with Min Suk and tells her that he found his ring (that he swallowed). Min Suk yells at Jeong Rok to stay away from her as he is dirty.
Before heading to office Attorney Kang drops by the café to buy beverages for herself and Yun. Meari takes her order and asked Attorney Kang if she can take Yun’s beverage to him. Attorney Kang not wanting Meari to do as she likes forcefully swiped Meari hands from the coffee coaster hitting Meari in the process. Meari tells Yun but he pays no attention to her. Meari hurt that Yun did not listened to her decides to leave early from work to look for her lost mobile phone. After finding her phone Meari phones I Su to tells her about what happened. I Su had to cut Meari as she’s on her way to class and was met by Dong Yup who tells her that his going see the school nurse. I Su who is one step ahead of Dong Yup waits outside the school wall. Dong Yup and his friends are then greeted by I Su after they climbed off the wall and left with no choice they head back to class.
Hard at work Tae San was called by his secretary to read an article. The article was written about Se Ra’s encounter with a reported earlier. It alarmed Tae San who then tries desperately to reach Se Ra. He then leaves her a break up message. Before finally giving up he stops by the golf club and finds Se Ra practicing. He then hugs her and remembers the break up message he sent. In order for Se Ra not to find out, Tae San takes her phone and steps on it.
Do Jin meets Yun to deal with the Attorney Kang's car damage settlement. The damage quote is pegged at $2,700. Do Jin assures Yun that it was all worth it for his one-sided love affair. Yun then tells Do Jin that he shouldn’t be rash. Do Jin quickly does a come back at Yun by telling him that he is a coward for just staying in his position and telling Meari to stop or continue liking him.
Meari goes to Yun’s office to file a complaint against Attorney Kang for hitting her. She and Yun got into an argument. She accuses Yun if treating and seeing her as a seven-year-old kid that use to scribble on his books. Yun off guarded and unable to answer is then kissed by Meari on the cheek. After doing such Meari leaves the office.
Colin who is walking down the street sees Meari coming out of the café. He greets her but Meari’s focus is on Attorney Kang—Meari pass by Attorney Kang with the clear intention of hitting her wrist. Attorney Kang then snarls at Meari who in return just made a sweet face while saying sorry. Colin then smiled upon Meari’s trick.
Min Suk took sometime off to look at some exhibit—to her surprise Jeong Rok comes over to bring her home. Min Suk then reminds Jeong Rok to cancel his expensive gym/fitness membership. As they talk over it, Jeong Rok receives a message that he quickly hides from Min Suk. Min Suk then asks for her husband’s mobile phone. Not to be found out, Jeong Rok throws his phone to ground and steps on it.
Tae San and Jeong Rok met each other at a mobile service center. Tae San who is waiting for Se Ra’s phone that is being fixed. Jeong Rok who just got in line to get his phone fixed. After getting their phones fixed, Jeon Rok heads back to café to have a chat with Meari. He offers Meari a deal which to act as a double spy. Sounds like fun, Meari accepts. Just after their chat Yun arrives who is soon followed by Colin. Meari seeing Colin greets him and they end up talking. It was found that Meari owes Colin a meal for saving her at the club. Meari then asks Colin to wait while she tells Jeong Rok that she’s leaving early in celebration of their new found partnership.
While Colin waits, Yun and Jeong Rok keep an eye on him. He then met Jeong Rok’s gaze.
Jeong Rok: Who is he? How can he look at me arrogantly like that? This kid..
Yun: …do not bother
Jeong Rok: You… Don’t you know that Meari is little Park Min Suk
Yun heads back to his office and sat of his chair, he then touches his cheek—remembering Meari’s kiss.
Meari and Colin heads to a restaurant, while waiting for the Meari takes a photo out and stares at it. He quickly hides it when Meari got back. Meari asked Colin why he has an American name. Colin responded that he was born in the States but grew up in Japan. Colin then asks Meari how she’s related to Yun and Jeong Rok. She tells him that both are her older brother’s close friends. Colin asks for Meari’s older brother’s name and Meari answers him that he doesn’t even know her name and now he’s wanting to know her “oppa’s” name.
I Su is cleaning at home and when she found the gloves, she though of Tae San being rich. She asks Se Ra if she knew and Se Ra tells her if I Su has ever since her dating a guy with no money. I Su then changes the topic by asking Se Ra if she want something to eat. They decide to eat sandwiches, I Su then head out to buy food and asks Se Ra if she can borrow her jacket. Rushing out the door, I Su almost knocked Do Jin who is trying to buzz the door. Do Jin presents I Su with a new pair of shoes. This time he bought the shoes with a $100 monthly installment for 14 months, which meets I Su’s condition of a pair of shoes not more than $100 is met. Do Jin leaves the shoes on the ground and I Su looks at it. She is facing Do Jin while her back is behind gate.
Tae San sneaks in to deliver Se Ra’s mobile phone, mistook I Su who is wearing Se Ra’s jacket as Se Ra herself. Trying to surprise Se Ra (who is actually I Su), Tae San hugs her from behind—this rendered I Su motionless. Se Ra then comes out finding Tae San hugging I Su. Tae San realizing his mistake quickly disengages himself from I Su and he tries to explain to Se Ra. Do Jin to make it easier takes the jacket off on I Su and returns it to Se Ra, telling her it’s all but a misunderstanding. Do Jin then takes I Su for a walk.
I Su tells Do Jin that she can still feel being held by Tae San. Everything was so clear and her mind keeps on playing what just happened over and over again. Do Jin tells her that being vivid is a problem. They must do something about it—Do Jin takes his suit (coat) off and puts it on I Su and after doing so he then kisses her. They kiss as the cherry blossom petals fill the air.
Do Jin: How was it? Now you have a more vivid thing to worry about.
Left back at home, Se Ra and Tae San talk—Se Ra asks Tae San how can he be so dense that he is I Su’s 20 seconds guy; I Su likes him. Tae San was not able to give Se Ra the response she wanted to hear, which was for Tae San to reject I Su feelings.
The shoes Do Jin bought was left on the ground and I Su looks at it thoughtfully. Tae San goes out and sees I Su. They look at each other.
Jeong Rok, Yun, Tae San and Do Jin hang out for the evening; Jeong Rok and Yun notices that Tae San and Do Jin are both in same predicament. They wondered if both went bankrupt or one was diagnosed with cancer and so on, Jeong Rok and Yun learn that Tae San mistook I Su as Se Ra.
Back at home, I Su takes a bubble bath. She closed her eyes and remembers all the encounters she had with Do Jin—from the very beginning, on how he appears unexpectedly, acting unreasonably bold and manly. She realized something and as she opens her eyes she touches her lips.
