A Gentleman's Dignity Episode 10 Recaps

INTRO
Do Jin, Tae San, Jeong Rok and Yun are playing StarCraft. The game demands intense focus that led to phone calls being ignored. Jeong Rok ignores Min Suk’s call and so does Tae San with Se Ra. After awhile, Jeong Rok gets another phone call this time from the café. Do Jin reminds Jeong Rok that a call from ones livelihood shouldn’t be taken lightly. Jeong Rok’s staff is calling to let him know that actress Jun Ji Hyun came to the store. Jeong Rok tells his staff to hook Ji Hyun with coupons. Few minutes passed and Jeong Rok gets another call from the café, this time, Im Yo Han, a professional (StarCraft) gamer came to the café. Upon hearing Yo Han’s name, all four stood up and rushed to the door arguing which way would take them really quick to the café.

Meari left the baseball game early stating that she had an appointment to keep. She’s been waiting in Jeong Rok’s bar for sometime now. Yun whom Meari is waiting for, had no plans to meet Meari.
Victory baseball dinner is still ongoing, while trying to enjoy his supper Yun gets a phone call from Jeong Rok. Jeong Rok is then told by Yun to call Tae San instead.
I Su who sits across Do Jin tries to get Do Jin’s attention so she can talk to him. However Do Jin is ignoring her, so she sends him a text. I Su notifies Do Jin that his phone is lighting up, a text message must have been received. Do Jin looks at I Su and they stare at each other, Do Jin signals to I Su to come closer, as she leans over, Do Jin does the same thing and whispers to I Su, if you’re not going to sleep with me, don’t flirt. I Su realizes that Do Jin does not want to talk to her. Do Jin reminds I Su that there’s no need to see each other anymore. He then leaves, I Su follows and outside both exchanged few words.
Do Jin: That was a rather fast reaction.
I Su: I am never sleeping with you.
Do Jin: I expected that much of an answer from you, I understand, so go.
I Su: I truly apologize for wearing the shoes (in such manner) and for hurting you. I was rash. I also apologize for the two false confessions. But it doesn’t mean that because my actions were rash that my intentions were not real.
Do Jin: Even up to now I still think you’re pretty. This is really frustrating. Here I am, a forty-one years old man, but ever since I met you, there are days that I felt younger. I have become more passionate and open-minded each day. My feelings for you, from the very beginning are sincere. But when I saw you wearing those shoes, I got mad. Because I realize an important thing—that this woman did not receive my feelings. I have been throwing my feelings at this woman as if they’re rocks. That woman is probably being hurt by them. So I need to let go of that woman. For all this time, I’m sorry for not being a gentleman. I’m more sincere that yesterday, so stop lecturing me because my peace is probably included in the peace you’ve wanted for everyone.
Before I Su can respond, Do Jin leaves. I Su began to cry and turns away to walk the opposite direction. Do Jin before driving off, he makes a call for a cab to bring I Su home, he follows I Su with the car’s mirror until she finally vanishes from his line of view.
Do Jin and Yun found each other in the patio and spent the evening over drinks, called themselves pathetic. Yun said that he wanted to get some fresh air. Do Jin continued the conversation, stating the fact that summer is here, both he and Yun are soon to go older again, they are clearly “ajusshis” however they like to make excuses that are both immature and boring. Yun came to the conclusion that Do Jin argued with I Su. Do Jin tells Yun that he is not going to be able to sleep for many nights, regardless, he is doing okay. Both said cheers to four boys who could not become gentlemen.
I Su arrives home still crying and Se Ra tries to console her. I Su mentioned that somebody left her today sincerely. Se Ra then asked if it is Do Jin.
The next day, I Su is feeling under the weather even at school, a student tries to argue with her that studying Ethics is baseless since the national aptitude test doesn’t even require the subject. I Su outwits the student and as soon as she left, he throws a tantrum. Dong Hyup who saw everything goes inside the classroom to greet the troublesome student. Dong Hyup pointed to the student that he must like math very much, so he asks a favor from him. Dong Hyup tells the student that he wants the two books that I Su gave him to be transcribed word for word. He then reminds the student that this is second warning, if he wants to keep on studying—he better not stand up to Ethics.
At lunch time, Do Jin and Yun have to put up with Jeong Rok talking to Min Suk (by phone) with full of “aegyo”. Do Jin asks why Jeong Rok is acting weirdly. Jeong Rok after saying good bye to Min Suk tells Do Jin that marriage is originally a crazy thing, he then stands up to get some rice noodles. The lady who sits adjacent to Jeong Rok also stands up at the same time. She apologizes to Jeong Rok first, seeing that the girl is pretty, Jeong Rok started to act all manly. Do Jin complimented Jeong Rok at what great talent he has. Do Jin then sends a text message. Jeong Rok receives a text message, he panics thinking that his wife must be watching. There must be Min Suk spy around. Yun noticed something different, that Do Jin kept on stopping in the middle of his sentences. Do Jin tells Yun that for some unknown reason the word peace has become very familiar.
Tae San and Se Ra enjoys an outdoor lunch date. Tae San noticed the younger kids clothing and asked if Se Ra liked skinny jeans. Se Ra tells Tae San that she finds them cool and yes, she likes them. After their date, Se Ra heads home to find I Su sorting items to throw—most of the items relate to Do Jin. I Su realizes (after talking to Se Ra) that she can keep the computer because Do Jin owed it to her for breaking her laptop. I Su heads outside to throw the shoes and table cloth. When she head back she found Se Ra laughing her head off with I Su’s laptop on her lap.
Do Jin tries to keep himself busy with work, while in a meeting with his team, he flips through documents and came across the sketch he drew after meeting I Su for the first time. He recalls the café incident, where I Su leaves him a note on the glass, hoping that his next appointment would be her.
I Su took the laptop away from Se Ra to change the wallpaper and as she was in process of doing so, she accidentally sees Do Jin’s secret life folder (Do Jin talked to I Su about this folder in Episode 9). There are four files and I Su listened to them one by one.
1st File: first meeting, a rainy day
2nd File: the red knitted dress incident
3rd File: conversation with Yun, wherein Do Jin confess to looking for two women to ask for their numbers, in the end two women ends up to be the same—I Su.
4th File: when I Su went to Do Jin’s place to retrieve the recorder.
Do Jin: …go quickly, because you might get caught by the traffic.
~After I Su left~
Do Jin: Of course, that’s a lie, I really didn’t want to let you go.
I Su listens to the last two lines the second time, after which, she then goes out to take back the trash she threw out.
Yun, Tae San and Do Jin hangs out at Jeong Rok’s bar. Tae San and Do Jin discuss on pulling off younger men fashion—the so called skinny jeans. Do Jin unexpectedly commented that love is overrated.
A phone ringing broke the interesting conversation, it’s Jeong Rok’s. Min Suk is calling and Jeong Rok is nowhere to be found. All three goes off to see Min Suk, one commented that Jeong Rok is finally getting divorced. Min Suk busted what the men have been doing in order to protect Jeong Rok. She gives them a deadline that after two months she wants both the architectural and law firms off her street.
Jeong Rok finally reappears and claims that he was just meeting a friend. Unable to reveal who he met with Yun, Tae San and Do Jin doubts him. They confiscate Jeong Rok’s phone and found that his contact are under aliases of either politicians or military personnel. While they try to refresh Jeong Rok’s phone, Jeong Rok tries to memorize a single set of numbers—which he eventually forgets after Do Jin distracted him. He then tells his friends that he did not memorize Min Suk’s number. Do Jin, Yun and Tae San, all at the same time says Min Suk’s number out loud.
Now back at his bar, Jeong Rok tries to recall that one special number and becomes frustrated that he is unable to do so. I Su arrives looking for Do Jin and Jeong Rok tells her that he’s gone home. The next day I Su heads to Do Jin’s office and waited outside. Team Leader Choi passes by and I Su asks him if Do Jin is in the office. Team Leader Choi tells I Su that Do Jin is out at a construction site.
Yun who is going over some details with a client receives a phone call from I Su. I Su calls Yun to ask if she can see him and make a home visit. I Su goes to a bookstore and after buying a book goes to see Yun. I Su gives Yun a book (just purchased) and tries to look around the apartment without being obvious. I Su tells Yun that if her intention is malicious, the book (as a present) is a sincere gesture. They then talk about Meari and before they can discuss further the door opens and Do Jin let himself in. Yun leaves the apartment to give Do Jin and I Su privacy so they can talk.
I Su: I have something to say to you.
Do Jin: What’s there left to say… or are you regretting that you did not slap me when you had the chance.
I Su gathered that Do Jin still does not want to talk to her, so she prepares to leave.
Do Jin: Be careful on you way out.
Yun who is waiting outside receives a text from Meari, telling him that tonight she will wait for him as well.
I Su approached Do Jin’s room and stood in front of the door—second guessing whether to knock or not. Do Jin who is inside listens to each movement I Su make. Both stood still and after sometime I Su turns around to leave. When Do Jin heard the front door click, he goes out. He was surprised to see I Su at the door.
I Su: You must have not been willing to listen to me. I’m sorry for being rude.
Now walking outside, I Su looks back hoping that Do Jin would come after her, only that he didn’t.
Meari walks out of the bar and checks her phone—still no response from Yun. She then waits at the side walk to halt a cab. None of the cabs passing by are stopping; Meari declares that the same with her bad luck in love, she appears to have no luck in getting a cab as well. A cab then stops right in front of Meari, the driver asked if Meari is customer 1101. Meari recognized Yun’s number. She gets inside the cab and ask the driver to phone Yun’s mobile. She instructs driver to tell Yun that she was nowhere to be found, so when Yun responded to the driver that he saw Meari get into the cab, Meari knew that he was nearby.
Yun is hiding behind an information board located across the street, when Meari spotted him. Meari then waved her arms and tried crossing the busy intersection. She almost got hit at least three times, this prompted Yun to shout at her on what she’s doing and asked her to stop. Meari yells back that she needs to cross the street or else Yun will leave without seeing her. Yun gave in and tells Meari he is going to come to her side of the street. Yun finally crossed the street and grabbed Meari unto the side.
Yun: Do not call or text me anymore. Try to act like an adult. If ever you get hurt it is none of my business. I am not your guardian. Your guardian is your older brother, Tae San.
Yun then hails a cab for Meari and walks away.
After classes the next day, I Su was caught by a co-teacher who inquired where Do Jin is. I Su tells the co-teacher that she and Do Jin are not dating. The co-teacher pointed out that I Su must have been dumped. The co-teacher then suggested a meeting between her brother-in-law and I Su. I Su is then saved by a phone call from Meari.
I Su and Meari meet up at Jeong Rok’s café. I Su asks Meari how long the café will stay open, just as Meari finish her response to I Su she gets a phone call from Tae San. Tae San is currently shopping for some clothes with Yun. Tae San wants to know Meari’s opinion on skinny jeans. Tae San then purchased trendy clothes, including a pair of skinny jeans; he was much satisfied with his G-Dragon fashion purchase that he felt 10 years younger. He tells Yun that he came up with a special event to make Se Ra laugh. Yun responded that in the next life he wants to be Tae San’s girlfriend.
Se Ra arrives at the rendezvous point for her date with Tae San and upon seeing Tae San’s upgraded wardrobe began to laugh her head off. She tries to distance herself from Tae San as he walks towards her. Se Ra claims it embarrassing. Tae San tells Se Ra that he has achieved his goal, which is not to look good but to make Se Ra laugh.
Jeong Rok is moving in with Do Jin and Yun. Do Jin complains not another male. Yun breaks the news to Jeong Rok that Min Suk is dropping by his office tomorrow to affix her seal on the divorce documents. Jeong Rok was given the sofa and as he tries to make himself comfortable he finds a phone, Do Jin’s phone to be exact. The phone received a text message and it was addressed to Tae San from I Su.
I Su wrote, Tae San, if Do Jin knows that I am waiting at the café right now, would he come and meet me.
Jeong Rok who thought that the message was really intended for Tae San forwards it to Tae San’s phone. (Do Jin and I Su adopt a hobby, whenever they are both too shy or too angry to speak with each other, they send text messages pretending their sending it to Tae San. After all Tae San is the reason they got closer). Tae San who is having a good time with Se Ra did not bother to check his phone.
Do Jin is taking a breather, he retrace the path I Su took. He then recalls how funny I Su’s reaction was when she found out that Do Jin is the same guy—Tae San’s friend and the guy who had an encounter with her students. Do Jin goes back inside and finds Jeong Rok, comfortable with chips, beer and watching TV. Do Jin’s tell Jeong Rok to go to sleep for the electricity bill will go up and as he was about to enter his room, Do Jin gets a call from Tae San. Tae San asks Do Jin what was the text meeting in a café all about. Jeong Rok clears up the confusion that the message came from I Su. Do Jin is angry, it’s been an hour and four minutes since I Su sent the text and then he rushed out.
I Su who is now the only customer left in the café smiled faintly.
Do Jin arrives at the café to find I Su no longer there. He took the same spot he sat on the first time he met I Su, his thoughts are running wild and he is trying to take in all emotions. He looks up and stares outside and saw I Su standing at the exact spot on that fateful rainy day. They just look at each other. Do Jin then takes a pen and wrote on a napkin. He then posted it against the glass for I Su to read, the note says, My appointment today is with you, I Su. Do Jin then smiled faintly at I Su. I Su then slowly leaned towards the glass, closed her eyes and kiss it. Do Jin gazes at her.
