I do not know if everyone has heard. Most networks have preempted evening dramas to air coverage of the ferry disaster. 179 of the 459 passengers have been rescued. Of the passengers on board the ship when it set sail from the port of Incheon late on Tuesday, nearly 340 are believed to have been from the same high school near the capital Seoul, on their way to Jeju island for a field trip.

The thought of losing so many young people from one community is unimaginable. Relatives and friends of those on board are posting on social media sites asking for any news or information about loved ones.

Please keep everyone involved(victims, families and rescuers) in your prayers.

Even if it is just a fragment, its fine. One day it will be the piece that will light up your future.

This is so tragic. Updates are finding many many of the people were trapped inside the ferry and the current was too strong to get divers in. How horrific is this? I mean I just had to break down and cry my eyes out.

Prayers.. all of us need to pray as hard as we possibly can.

All my thoughts are with the families. I hope they will find survivors.

I do not know what I would do if I lost my children. I can just cry for this tragedy.

My thoughts and prayers are with the many families and friends who have lost loved ones in this tragedy. As you all have, I cried as I read article after article of this incident. The senseless loss of so many young lives on the verge of adulthood is devastating for the community. The impact is not just felt in Korea but around the world as we all hope and pray for miracles.

this is so heartbreaking. have you seen the video of the student when the  boat tilted? they were joking around. the owner of the video did not make it. it was heartbreaking to think what they did or how they felt after the video when the waters rose...
