Ohh by the way. When we make the finalized version. We aren't going to put the section of pronunciation and spelling. That isn't needed, just the spelling of the words and phrase meaning. I do think it would be cool to put up the pronunciation and spelling in another separate topic for people interested in learning Korean, though.

And WaGGy change one thing: {used depending on who you are talking to ex. Doctor, Teacher etc} should not be on the same line as sunbae, but the next line, teacher.

I've encountered "sunbae-nim" many times in the show. So I'm thinking, should I put it as "Sunbaenim" or "Sunbae-nim" or "Sunbae"?

Sunbaenim is fine. The -nim part adds more formality or respect such as putting the ending of -yo of a sentence to talk to elderly people.

thanks for the list of basic translating but can i make suggest: maybe making the list about about the basic translating or editing so that everyone can download the list and save it before scrolling the thread. Save a lot of searching. Or if it can be edit to the web translating.

I think that would be better. The 'Terms' will be separated from the 'Pronunciation and Spelling'. The Spelling & pronunciation part is a lot more difficult than the terms. I'm already twisting my tongue a li'l bit with the pronunciation in my Korean class LOL.

This is still a work in progress, although most of the basic terms are already here. If the list has been finalized it will be transferred :)

is is possible to compile all these and put it into a "Translation Dictionary" on the webpage instead of people continue adding in and we might missed out some of the words.

This is still a draft. Once it's complete, a moderator will move the topic here.

By the way, I have added colors and additional information/corrections. Hope you guys like it ;)

ps: sorry for only editing the first few lines, i have to study since exams are starting next week ㅠ.ㅠ

Should we leave the words like "aigoo"? Or translate them? Personally, I'm alright with aigoo, but I'm not sure about the others. :)

Good point little green alien lady. Some Korean foods translated into English just doesn't sound... appetizing. Comments people? By the way, we aren't going to translate all the foods. Just the common ones.

    @ milkyway:
We are now working at a Glossary that will contain Korean food names and their ... explication (what they are made off).

So when you will find those terms in the subs you will just have to copy/paste the explication from the Glossary.

I'm compiling the terms for future use and 'Basic Expressions' would probably have another thread, because that is a different category now. Most of the stuff here are terms.

It was fun reading and saying out loud korean terms!!!

But I guess I really need to improve my pronunciation, even for simple words...... and "postpone" my trip to Seoul ;)
